Today was Avery's "real" birthday. We packed the family in the van and headed to Issaquah. There we visited the Salmon Hatchery. It was my first time there and I enjoyed seeing the salmon again. The last time I saw them up close was 6 years ago when Jeff and I were in Seattle on vacation. It's nice to know there is a place to see them jumping the fish ladder without visiting Ballard.
After the hatchery, we went to Target to spend Avery's bday money and Cambria's money leftover from her July bday. Avery picked out The Little Einsteins rocket with characters (expensive, but it was her money) and a Diego playdough set. Cambria chose an ice cream parlor playdough set and a Sleeping Beauty doll for the bath. Since we NEVER buy toys on normal visits to Target, it felt like Christmas to them.
Then, we headed to our friends, the Mumfords, to celebrate their son's birthday and Avery's. Everyone had a great time, though I think that Avery is a little tired of hearing the Happy Birthday song sung to her.
