I'm trying to return to the world of blogging. My sister Katie has complained about my lack of new pictures and stories about the girls, so I'm going to attempt a new post every other week, if not more often.
I used to think that life with 1 child was insane. Then, I thought that life with a toddler and infant was a lot. But now I know that having two very active, young children is truly more exhausting than anything I've experienced thus far. Lately, Cambria has stopped napping...she does have an hour of quiet time in my bedroom, but even that doesn't always last the full hour if Avery decides to cut short her afternoon nap. It's difficult to force Cambria to have "quiet time" when her very loud sister is running around our small apartment.
On another note, I wanted to share a sweet moment from this weekend. On Sunday, we drove to Long Island for the newest Lee cousin's baptism. Driving through NYC is always one of our favorite family outings. There are endless sights on the drive up I-95 North, through the Lincoln Tunnel, 42nd St straight across mid-town Manhattan, through the Queens-Midtown tunnel to the Long Island Expressway. At one point in our drive, Cambria was yelling, "I see the Statue of Liberty...I see the Empire State Building...Wow, NYC is gargantuan!", while Avery was pointing out the window, making loud noises at birds. It was wonderful! :-)
However, the best moment came shortly after driving through Manhattan. I was feeling a little sad at missing another week at our home church, Presbyterian Church of New Providence. The contemporary worship there is so refreshing and I was longing for a chance to sing out praises to my God. Then, one of our family's favorite songs came on the cd playing in the car -- Hillsong's From the Inside Out. Jeff and I were singing along with the song when I noticed that, not only was Cambria singing with us, but Avery was also singing the tune. What a wonderful sound to hear all of us praising God together!!! It brought tears to my eyes, and was one of my favorite moments as a parent.
Do I want to know the truth?

Laurie, that's definitely a special moment. I'm looking forward to those sorts of things with Brennan. It's so fun that Cambria and Avery enjoyed the snow so much. When we went to the Adirondacks I tried to get him to "play" in the snow, but it was a no go. He just cried - maybe next winter, depending on where we are, of course. Oh kids! :0)
