Had a case of false labor last night. I was nauseated, feeling crampy and having contractions every 12-15 minutes. This went on from 4 p.m. - almost 1 a.m. I had a rough night sleeping but nothing came of the contractions. I was still feeling nauseated and crampy this morning, but wasn't having anymore contractions.
This afternoon I had my 38 week appointment. I shared my symtoms from the night before and the midwives were very encouraged to hear of the activity. The midwife in training checked me for dilation. I was 3-4 cm and she could easily feel the baby's head. Everything felt primed and ready for labor. After discussing the findings with our midwife, Ursula, the consensus was that they would NOT be surprised if I went into labor later this week and WOULD be surprised if I make it to my visit next Wednesday.
So, we'll see. I'm still feeling lots of pressure below and random contractions, as well as the crampy feeling. We'll just have to see if it leads to something more.
On another note, Cambria wanted to try Jeff's Coke at Chili's tonight. Jeff gave her a sip out of the straw. At first she seemed to like it but then the fizz must have burned her little nose and throat because she began to spit it out. It was a funny scene.
I installed the infant car seat in the van today. Cambria was so excited and said that she will hold "Baby Sister's" hand in the car when she arrives. It really is precious to hear how she talks about her sister already.
Keep checking the site. We'll let you guys know when labor truly begins.
Do I want to know the truth?
