Well, we've made it to 3 months without going completely insane (though there have definitely been moments of insanity in this household). Avery is a little better with her fussiness but still has difficult moments/days. Some of her feedings during the last few days have been pretty challenging. I am hoping that these colic/fussiness issues will resolve themselves in the next month or so.
Avery is a very busy little girl. We thought that Cambria was squirmy as a baby but Avery puts her to shame. She has come close to leaping out of our arms, and it is quite a challenge to change her diaper while she's kicking around the table.
Avery also loves to coo at us. She likes it when I sing "Skidamarink a dink a dink" and often coos along with an "ooo" sound as I sing "I love you." She is also very good at making a noise somewhat like the rolling of my tongue. It's very cute!
Today Avery slept an hour & a half during the afternoon!!!! She hasn't slept anywhere close to that in the daytime before today. I'm sure it won't happen every day quite yet, but I'll take it when I can get it. Oh yea, she also has transitioned out of the carseat and into her bassinet all the time. At night she goes to bed around 9 pm, and wakes up for feedings at 2 am and 5:30 am.
Cambria is talking my ears off these days. I am grateful for naptime as it gives me a little quiet in the day. Here are a few cute/funny things from her mouth:
* Cambria asked to sleep on the floor one night. Jeff said, "no", since we no longer have a rug in her room and the floor is cold. Cambria response was, "I threw up on my rug. I need a new one. Maybe I can get a Dora one." We told her that we would not be getting a Dora rug to which she replyed, "We'll see." (Where does she get her confidence?)
* The other day she said, "Daddy pulls up the drain in the sink and makes a lake."
* "We fixed the light last day" (instead of yesterday)
* "I ever see this?" (Translation: Have a ever seen this?)
* One night at the end of January, she decided that she would like to sleep with a nightlight again instead of leaving the lamp on at night. I think that she's been sleeping with the lamp on since last spring when she discovered the shadows in her room. She doesn't seem to be bothered by the shadows anymore.
More soon. -Laurie
