Another morning of light snow

This morning we had a light snow covering the yard. The girls went out to play and created this pathetic snowman (see between them in the below picture). Schools were closed and swim lessons were cancelled so we just hung out at home. The snow/ice melted by noon, but the weather people are predicting 2-4 inches overnight. It would be awesome to get more than 1/2 inch. :-)

We had a 20-week sonogram this morning. I'm thrilled to announce that we have a healthy baby girl on the way! It's going to be a house of girls for Jeff, and I'm confident that he can handle it. Thanks for your prayers so far. Keep praying that I don't go crazy in the remaining 20 weeks of the pregnancy! :-)

Snow Day

As you can see it was a beautiful, sunny day in the Seattle area today. In fact, we are having several days in a row of sun this week!!! It's shocking! Which is why we, as a family, drove up to Snoqualmie Pass to see the snow-covered mountains and check out the winter sports. Let me tell you, it took us 40 min (at most) door to ski slopes or sledding. I can't believe this area we live in. Not only do we have lakes, sounds, hills, and mountains. We also have any summer/winter sport you could possibly want.

Anyway, we had a wonderful time at the Pass and will be taking some more trips up there this winter. We hardly get snow in Maple Valley, but who cares when you can have all the snow you want in 40 minutes.

The other night we converted Avery's crib to a toddler bed. She's been climbing out of the crib for about a month, but I couldn't find the conversion hardware after our move. She will stay in this bed until we buy bunk beds later this spring. Eventually, the girls will share a room with bunk beds and our new baby-to-be will go into his/her own room (in June).

The other night, Avery insisted on picking out her own pajamas. She choose two princess tops...one went on top, as usual, and the other became a skirt.

I know that I shouldn't be surprised. I've gone through this with one child before, but I'm in awe once again with how quickly toddlers change. Avery has transformed from a older baby last August to a full sentence talking toddler at present. It really is amazing how children develop...it's puts me in awe of our mighty God, who created us.

Giraffe Tent

This is the giraffe tent that the girls received from my sister for Christmas. Thank goodness we have a basement that can handle such a large animal. This tent makes our old Dora tent look insignificant. Thanks, Aunt Katie.

New postings on the way

We just arrived back from a two week East Coast trip. We had a wonderful time with family -- celebrating my father-in-law, Dan Lee's, 70th bday and Christmas/New Year's. Starting out this year of 2008, we are grateful for the love and support from family. Our girls are incredibly blessed to have 4 loving grandparents and 7 aunts/uncles who are nuts about them. They ate up every second with each family member and can't wait for our next time together -- probably June when the new baby arrives.

In spite of a great trip back East, we are glad to be back in Maple Valley, our home. We missed our new church and friends here and are looking forward to growing these relationships in 2008.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant now and feeling much better. I have an appointment on Monday, and should schedule my sonogram at that time, so look for an announcement about the sex of baby Lee in the coming weeks. The baby must know that I'm typing about him/her since I feel some kicking in my belly.
